{Spring Break}

Happy Good Friday Yall!

It's been a while since I have blogged! So here is an update on what has been going on lately!

Cody and I adopted a new little girl into our lives about a month ago. Her name is Zoey!
She is about 16 weeks old and is a German Shepherd. We went to the shelter one day and found a litter of German Shepherds and just had to have one! She and Chubbs get along so well!

Since it is our Spring Break (thank goodness), I decided to use my time wisely and catch up on school work, do some Spring Cleaning, and catch up with my sorority sisters from college!

This was a fun reunion at the Fatz Cafe in Clinton, SC.

It began to storm in the middle of our photo session!

Later in the week, Kate (my fellow teacher) and I decided to try out the Design With Wine in Greenville, SC. They say everyone is an artist, but I was skeptical!

But they were right! I am somewhat artistic!

We had lots of fun chatting with the other ladies and painting our masterpieces!

And finally, to finish off the last "school" day of Spring Break, I got a new computer! Its an HP Pavilion G Series in the Dandelion Breeze "print". I love it! It is such a step up from my Dell, and perfect for Grad School!

And here is my beautiful Dell Inspiron 15 that I saved up for Summers to buy when I was in College. But it is time to say farewell to this beauty and offer it up for sale! It is in excellent condition, with a few minor scratches on the front. It has Windows Vista and Office 2007. I am selling it for $150! Email me if you are interested or have questions! Brittanyaga@yahoo.com

I also {may} have been bad and bought a few things while on Spring Break! I bought these two dresses, but now need help deciding which one to wear for Easter Sunday. Any suggestions?

Lilly Pulitzer Hotty Pink Twirlers Talulah Dress

Muse Yellow Floral Dress

They are both so cute! But I am not sure if the Lilly Pulitzer one is too casual for Easter! I will be spending Easter with my family after a great church service!

I hope everyone has a fabulous Easter Weekend!

The Southern Closet

Here are some outfits I wear for specific occasions! Enjoy :)

I enjoy dressing up for work!

I wore this for my husband's surprise 25th birthday party!

I love to dress fabulously on the weekends, even if I just stay around the house!

These must-have items are worn at least once every two weeks. I don't know what I would do without them in my closet!!

I hope you enjoyed a sneak peek into my closet and wardrobe!

Here is another Lilly Pulitzer clipboard I made today! It's a Hotty Pink First Impression clipboard without a monogram!

Don't forget to visit www.etsy.com/shop/brittanyaga if you are interested in a Lilly Pulitzer, Vera Bradley, etc. Clipboard! I'd love to make one for you or a gift for someone :)

Bye Y'all!

A Teacher's Idea of Winter Break

I am lucky enough to teach at a private school in my hometown. Teaching definitely has its perks: long Summers off, multiple breaks throughout the year, and excellent hours! Well this year for our Winter Break (Friday, January 27 - Monday, January 30) I visited the Biltmore House in Asheville, NC with my sister, while the Hubs was on night shift :(. I also caught up on homework and crafted my days away filling Etsy orders. Here are some {highlights} from my break!

We left for Asheville on Friday evening and grabbed some dinner at the Texas Roadhouse near our hotel. Saturday morning we ate a fabulous continental breakfast at our hotel then headed to the Biltmore House!

It's just jaw dropping when you pull up to the house! It also brings back fabulous memories because my husband proposed here!

I {kinda} liked the Grass Horsey they had in the barn area!

The view from the house was amazing! I wish we could wake up to that every morning!!

After a long, but wonderful day spent at the Biltmore House, my sister and I headed back to the hotel to get some sleep before heading home on Sunday.

For the rest of Sunday and Monday, I spent my days doing homework and crafting! I have an Etsy shop {www.etsy.com/shop/brittanyaga}. There isn't much in my shop right now, but business is already booming! I have had 12 orders for my Lilly Pulitzer clipboards in the past week, so I have been busy! I had one customer request a Delta Gamma Sorority clipboard for herself and I wanted to show y'all how it turned out!

I think it turned out fabulous! If you would like to order one in your favorite print (Lilly Pulitzer, Vera Bradley, etc.) Visit my shop or send me an email: brittanyaga@yahoo.com ! I will show you more as I complete the orders :)

Happy End of January Y'all!!

{Lilly Pulitzer Winter SALE!}

{Lilly Pulitzer} is having a winter sale on all of their current fall items, past season items, and some items from their new resort line. I told myself that I didn't need anything and that I could go without even online shopping. I had made the decision that I was just going "window" shop and if something jumped out at me and was just such a FABULOUS deal that I absolutely could not pass up, then and only then would I purchase it. When I got to school this morning (my first day back), the internet had crashed. This should've been my first sign that I didn't need to shop. Then just as I'm turning down my road to go to my house after cheerleading practice, I realized I had left my computer at the school. Sign #2 right? I think not!! I don't give up that easily! So needless to say, I started shopping around 5pm and finished at 6pm completey satsified and anticipatory of my new goods! Here are some pictures of the items and the amazing {sale} prices I got them for!

I got two of these {Cassie} tops (which are my favorite!).
I got a White and a Navy!
Retail Price: $58.00 each
Sale Price: $16.80
{STEAL!!}

I got this {Cissy} Skirt (also one of my favorites!) in the print "Heel Yeah" in MY size!!
I have been DYING for this skirt but couldn't imagine paying $98 for a skirt!
Retail Price: $98.00
Sale Price: $34.30
{SCORE!}

I got this {Shauna Tunic} in Bright Navy the Big Brava!
I have been in love with this dress from the moment I set eyes on it!
I found it today, in one size up from mine (but I can make it work!)
Retail Price: $198.00
Sale Price: $69.30

This brought my total today to: $157.20 (including shipping and handling)
Now, this is a lot for me normally, but in the past few days I sold a bunch of my gently used and new Lilly that has been in my closet for some time on the Re-Lilly Group and made a grand total of: $268.00. So I'd say my shopping today was well worth it :)

If y'all don't know what Re-Lilly on facebook is and you are an avid Lilly lover like me you should check it out!

I got the {Avery} Skirt in Macrame Me that I have been dying for since the Summer from another Lilly Lover for $45.00 when it has a retail price of $89.00!
I used my paypal balance for this purchase! I am one happy Lilly Lover!!

*Fingers Crossed* that my orders went through because some sales are so intense that inventory is not always completely accurate!

The sale continues through tomorrow at midnight so if there is anything you want/NEED you better get to shopping!!

{Felt Flower Necklace Tutorial}

I am absolutely {ADDICTED} to Pinterest and found a tutorial for a fabric flower necklace, so I changed it up a bit and wanted to share my tutorial with yall!

For your supplies you will need:
Hot Glue Gun
Scissors
White Felt Square
Felt Square in the color of your choice
Necklace Chain
Necklace Clasps (if you'd like; I ended up not using them)

First, start by cutting out 5 one inch circles from the white felt. They dont have to be perfect circles, they just need to be relatively the same size.

I took my colored felt and cut it into four squares and stacked them on top of each other in order to cut more circles at a time.

You need to cut out lots of circles the same size from the colored felt. I used about eight circles per flower, so I cut approximately 40 colored circles. Again, they don't have to be perfect circles!

Put a dot of hot glue in the middle of the each colored circle and pinch from the bottom to make a gathered look.

Put a dot of hot glue in the middle of the white felt circle and press down the gathered felt piece.

After you glue down the middle piece, repeat the same process until you have the entire white felt circle covered.

Make 5 of these!

Align on the leftover white felt the way you want your necklace to look.

Glue all but the top two flowers down.

Glue the chain to the top two flowers.

Now, glue the top two flowers down to the felt, aligning them with the other flowers. Once the glue is dry, cut off the excess white felt and clean up the edges with your scissors.

Ta-da!
